Champion of the Day - Quick, Convenient, Cheap and Tasty Breakfast Foods

Long Time No Talk, Blogland!

I have to admit I'm a little embarrassed. I began this blog with the core idea of producing at least one unique article per month, but I am shamefully averaging closer to .2 per month. So in the spirit of keeping my blog alive, here's the first entry for the fast-ending 2010 calendar year! :]

Today's Subject: Breakfast. The French call it déjeuner, in Germany they refer to it as Frühstück, and the Swedish name it Frukost. In North America, the term is derived from the phrase "breaking the fast" - literally the most important meal of the day.

Historically, breakfast has been around since the dawn of man. It is attributed to enhancing energy levels and even raising the IQ. Imagine if the survival of our prehistory fore-bearers could be as simple as whether or not they ate a meal the morning prior to their daily hunt. Dried meat and hewn grains could be the difference between surviving the sabretooth chase...or being IT'S breakfast!

Often outright neglected in modern society, or traded for "quick fixes" of empty calorie energy, there are many benefits to a well-rounded morning meal. You feel good, you think sharper, and you have more gusto to get you through the day. So why do so many neglect this meal?
